GPR119 is a cell surface receptor capable of sensing partially digested dietary triglycerides in gastrointestinal lumen. It is highly expressed in human gastrointestinal tract, pancreatic islets, insulinomas and glucagonomas , as well as rat pancreatic islet and pancreatic β-cell lines. GPR119 can also be detected in both murine K cells and L cells, as well as GLP-1 producing cell lines (GLUTag and STC-1 cells).
