How to use
In Vitro:
Matrine((+)-Matrine) is an alkaloid found in plants from the Sophora family, which has a variety of pharmacological effects, including anti-cancer effects, and action as a kappa opioid receptor agonist. Matrine significantly inhibites the growth of human non-small cell lung cancer A549 and hepatoma SMMC-7721 cells and induces apoptosis by strongly reducing the viability and the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax protein in A549 cells. matrine may stimulate the descending dynorphinergic neuron, resulting in the stimulation of kappa-opioid receptors (KORs) in the spinal cord, and this phenomenon in turn produces the antinociception in mice.
In Vivo:
LD50: Mice 157mg/kg (i.p.)
